The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce the selection of Clay Gillham as the Events and Communications Coordinator.
With a background in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Kentucky, Clay Gillham spent the first 5 years of her career working in various marketing roles for companies ranging in size from 5 employees to more than 500. In 2018, she took a leap of faith and began her own business offering in-home professional organization services. She brought this business to Henderson when she and her husband moved back here in late 2019 after more than a decade away. After pivoting into a product-based business making and selling candles during the pandemic, Clay realized that she wanted to get more involved in the community and was looking for an opportunity to work within a team environment again.
“Clay is going to be great addition to the chamber. Being an entrepreneur herself, Clay understands the perspective of the small business owner in Henderson while also possessing the technical skills and experience to excel at her new position,” said Lindsay Locasto, Chamber President. “There is no doubt the marketing and event planning experience she has will serve our membership and organization well.”
The Chamber has been in search of an individual to fill the open position since January 27th of this year after the announcement of the merger between the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Henderson Partnership. Gillham will assume her role at the Chamber of Commerce on Monday, March 28th.
Gillham says, “I’m thrilled for this chance to serve the community I grew up in. When my husband and I first started talking about moving to Henderson, we looked at all of the people our age who were bringing their talents and passion back to this town and investing in making it a better place for residents and visitors alike. And we thought, ‘We could do that. We could be a part of that energy.’ I’m so grateful that I’m getting the opportunity now to do just that.”
