DE&I in Henderson
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce recognizes that sustained economic growth and a prosperous and vibrant community is inextricably linked to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our educational systems, our business community, and our county at large. To support and grow diversity, equity and inclusion in our community, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce has developed the following mission as a part of its guiding principles:
To recognize and help remove systemic barriers in the workplace and education systems for women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, persons with disabilities, and people of under-served and under-represented racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Taking Action
In late 2022, the Henderson Chamber sent a staff member, our Education & Workforce Committee Chair, and a member of our Government Affairs Committee to the Kentucky Chamber’s Inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit. To help ensure that the knowledge and momentum gained there had a home within the Henderson Chamber, D,E& I was added as a core focus of the Education & Workforce Committee.
