   MEMBERSHIP                                  

PURPOSE

To promote and communicate the benefits of being a chamber member.

EVENTS

New Member Orientation

• To introduce staff to new memberssimon shoes

• To provide information about committees and ways to be involved with the Chamber

• To give information about the purpose of the Chamber Executive Level Networking

• To provide an executive level networking event Monitoring

• To monitor and engage in support of membership advancement and attainment

 

COMMITTEE

   AGRICULTURE                                       

PURPOSE

To embrace our community’s agricultural roots and raise awareness of the importance of agriculture in our local economy

EVENTS

Agriculture Appreciation Breakfastcorn

• To communicate agricultural community updates and events

• To present Agriculturist of the Year Award

• To present Lifetime Achievement in Agriculture Award Farm to Table

• To promote the farmers in our region by collaborating with our local restaurants for a community event

Farmer Sound Off/Meeting

• To allow members of the Ag community the opportunity to express concerns at a dinner

 

COMMITTEE

   GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS                                      

PURPOSE

To monitor legislative and regulatory activity at the local, state, and national level which impact the business community. To review issues in our community that impact businesses and quality of life. To promote awareness of candidates and issues they

represent during election periods.

EVENTS

Candidates Training

• To educate individuals interested in running for a political office according to state guidelinesdebate 1 screen

Candidates Forum

• To educate the public on issues presented by local candidates running for office.

• To communicate and share information about local candidates State of the City/State of the County

• To provide a public forum for the elected officials of the city and county government to share information in collaboration with the Henderson Rotary Club, Henderson Breakfast Lions and Henderson City Lions Club.

Legislative Series

• PREVIEW – To provide an opportunity for local community members to share concerns and legislation of concern with local legislators prior to the legislative session in the format of a panel discussion. An electronic survey will be conducted prior to event to get community input

• REVIEW – To provide an opportunity for legislators to update the community on the actions of the legislators in regard to the issues and concerns of the community brought forth in the preview session.

Kentucky Chamber Luncheon

• To provide the State Chamber an opportunity to discuss issues and concerns of our state with our local chamber.

 

COMMITTEE

   EDUCATION                                         

PURPOSE

To bridge the education system and workforce readiness by assisting the education system to build a better graduate and workforce employee.

EVENTS

Educator Appreciation (MAY)thelmbjohnson

• To show appreciation to educators in our community in four (4) categories: Rookie, Veteran, Post Secondary, and Support Educator with an event at the award recipients school and on a billboard located in the community announcing the winner and award type.

Scholarship (MAY)

• To provide assistance to local high school seniors from the CTE unit at HCHS and the Central Academy with the opportunity to be awarded one of the two (2)

$500 scholarship available.

• The application will be given to the Scholarship Counselor at HCHS for distribution

• Special consideration will be given to those completing a CTE Pathway

• Special consideration will be given to those from Central Academy who are furthering their education beyond high school.

Career Recognition (NOVEMBER)

• To provide an opportunity for 8 grade students to learn about career

opportunities from local business leaders Opioid/SUD Abuse Educational Summit

• To inform and educate the regional area about SUD (Substance Use Disorder) and look at the scope of the problem, current efforts to reduce abuse, and best practices that can be adopted to combat the problem.
